There are also plenty of online resources that will get you the same information. For this task specifically, if you can figure out <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sudo" rel="nofollow">sudo</a> and <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nano_%28text_editor%29" rel="nofollow">nano</a>, you should be good to go with the instructions above.
